It's been quite a month. A complete roller coaster ride, I'd have to say, again.
Here's some of the excitement. Abbi, Alec and Tim went to Canada for a Nightwish concert. They LOVED it. And much to my concern survived it without being squished in a mosh pit.
We celebrated Kyra's birthday for a few days.
Alec helped Kyra put together her new birthday drum set.
And she was just a bit psyched about getting them.
We played Rock Band with our cousins.
And now we're heading to Georgia. A house hunting we will go.
The winds are a blowing and they're blowing us south.
Yes, it's official. Tim accepted a position in the Gainesville GA area. We're movin' south.
We're excited. Excited to get rid of shovels. Excited to be more warm than more cold. (yes, I know, it's gonna be a culture shock in lots of ways, but we're excited for the adventure!) Excited to be near some dear friends.
And excited to have our house sold... really sold! Off our backs :) Tim says, "it's been like a gorilla on my back". Yes, not a monkey, but a GORILLA! So he's elated to have that done with, and we're elated to get on with our lives. The ceiling in the basement is almost done. We'll be going down to check out GA in the next week or so and we'll probably be moving down around the end of June...
Eek, that's fast!
Here's to new beginnings and exciting adventures!
OH! And down there I'm gonna grow stuff like no tomorrow..
Kyra and I had a wonderful afternoon today. We were home while Tim, Alec and Abbi drove to Winnipeg. They have the Nightwish concert tonight!
So while they were driving, we were exploring and playing outside. Look what we found!
Finally! Color in our world! As I stepped into the woods to untangle the dog's leash I saw these!
I was freakin' out to Kyra, "look Kyra! Look! Come here!" She comes over and looks and informs me it's the same flowers she and Diana saw last year. In fact Kyra took a picture of them and they were on the header for our Etsy shop. :) Where have I been? Jeesh. Oh well. I still love them. I just love the color.
And I'm going to post a bunch of these! So look out!
The first ones we found were in the front woods. The rest were in the back. We went to investigate our fairy's area, from last year and we think we came across flower fairy activity.
This is obviously a flower fairy's path. See the trail of flowers?
After posting yesterday's blog post I walked downstairs to look for some paint. We're gonna do some touch ups before an appraiser takes a view. What surprise do I get on my shoulder? A water drip from the ceiling... Yes, the ceiling in the basement. Dang, what's that??
After Tim and I stood there for a few minutes, some what stupified, he asked me to go and see if the sink upstairs in the kitchen was leaking at all. I ran up and looked, nope. But then I remembered that the refrigerator had some work done on it a few months back. I pulled it out and ... ugh, big pool of water. Yep, there was the culprit.
So after only $61.00 to a plumber, our leak is fixed.
But I have a feeling it's gonna be a bit more to fix this:
At least the whole ceiling didn't fall in, but we're a bit concerned about the route of the water. Where it came out isn't anywhere near where the refrigerator sits.. hmm.. So, I'm feeling a bit like this reference of Mary's. Yet, I'll convince myself to be more like this reference of hers.
How am I doin'?
I'll talk about that top hat later, it deserves its own post.
A wonderful blog post from Clint Stonebraker. I love the way he recounts his realization about a trip they were planning on taking.
He is dad to Shelby, one of Kyra's best friends, and husband to wonderful Wendy, a friend of our family's. (Shelby is a friend of ours too, but Kyra claims her ;)
I think Clint is one reason why most of the times you see Shelby she's looking like this:
Just plain happy!
And here's Mom and daughter, gee, guess where they are? It sure ain't Georgia.
We wished Clint could have been with them, but we're positive he was warmer where he was ;) I have a feeling we may be seeing him soon.
what is everyone going to think having said we're going to move to Oregon and now it's not happening...
ugh.
So I found out stress can eep in to your body even if you think it's going OK. I've been having a lot more pain through my body lately and last Thursday I spent the afternoon in the ER. My heart was wanting to flip out of my chest. Not good, I guess. It's happened before, usually when I lay down to sleep but it goes away. Not Thursday. It kept jumpin' around and even though I tried to take it easy I was so tired. So tired while trying to take breaths and just sitting still was uncomfortable, so I went in.
All the tests came back OK. He (the doctor) said your heart can do some weird things sometimes and a lot of times people don't even feel it. But some people are sensitive to it, yeah, imagine... me, sensitive.. *g* So I didn't find out much, but I'm glad my heart looked OK. We're waiting on a Lyme's test result that they did, I guess that can effect your heart and that would explain my acheyness and being even more tired than usual.
So I'm breathing and relaxing and knowing that we are exactly where we need to be and telling myself all will be well.
Tim was told that he's been reallocated. hmm... funny terms, first dissolved, now reallocated.
He has 4 weeks to decide if he still wants to work for his present company. Although that means a move and we're not sure what locations are available. The one really cool part of that option is that they would move us and buy our house.... hmmm
And then there's a severance, yep, there is. If he wants to call it quits he can.
And he's happy :)
We have some time now to think.
Happy Friday to you all and know that Tim is going to enjoy having some time off,
