The winds are a blowing and they're blowing us south.
Yes, it's official. Tim accepted a position in the Gainesville GA area. We're movin' south.
We're excited. Excited to get rid of shovels. Excited to be more warm than more cold. (yes, I know, it's gonna be a culture shock in lots of ways, but we're excited for the adventure!) Excited to be near some dear friends.
And excited to have our house sold... really sold! Off our backs :) Tim says, "it's been like a gorilla on my back". Yes, not a monkey, but a GORILLA! So he's elated to have that done with, and we're elated to get on with our lives.
The ceiling in the basement is almost done. We'll be going down to check out GA in the next week or so and we'll probably be moving down around the end of June...
Eek, that's fast!
Here's to new beginnings and exciting adventures!
OH! And down there I'm gonna grow stuff like no tomorrow..
I can grow azaleas! Outside!
I googled azaleas and guess where this is???
G E O R G I A ! :)

Hubba! Hubba! Congratulations! It's gonna be a HUGE change in so many ways but I'm sure y'all can enjoy the good changes and resisit the icky ones.
Hooray!
You're on/near Lake Lanier, right? You'll hafta buy a skiboat!
Congrats! We'll miss you over here on the left coast but I know good times are awaitin' for ya.
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!The New Adventures of the Traaseth's- Georgia Chapter.
Hey Yo'all.
So you go from freezing MN to close to Hotl'Anta!!!!!!
Stay Cool and enjoy the Azelias.
I bet it feels good to have that settled.
If you need a stop partway down... we're about 3.5 hours from Atlanta - so 3 hours from Gainesville? I think Evan & Abbi have connected online a bit.
I love azaleas. And dogwoods. And the combination of both.
Congrats!!! I live just south of you by about 4 or more hours. I know the feeling of cold winters!!
Glad all is working out!!!
I am just so happy about this. I'll give you some hundred year old rootings from our azaleas once you get here.
Wishing you many happy adventures in Georgia! :)
That is a fast move!
We have dogwoods and wild azaleas scattered through our woods. I am no gardener, so they are on their own. Still, I'm proud if "my" azaleas. Ha!
Thanks all for your comments. Or thanks y'all ;)
Wendy: you know how excited I am :)
Deanne: yep, we're planning on Disneyworld pretty quick!
Frank: Yep Lake Lanier :) we'd love to have a boat. One house, near Wendy, has a neighborhood dock! We'll see..
Mary: We miss you too, can't wait for July!
Alex: thanks for being in MN
dharmamama: thanks for the offer, I think we're covered but lets get together some time k?
Heather: I'm so ready for warm weather.
Madeline: Oh! That would be wonderful, and you know what, I don't even know what dogwoods look like *g*
Laura: we'll see how my green thumb is, I've done pretty good up here, but I think our plants are pretty "hardy" ;)
Holy Cow!!! I can feel the weight of that big ass gorilla just floating off your shoulders! I'm sending you good vibes for all the upcoming excitement, packing, and finally...moving! Try to have fun along the way. My family moved to Augusta, GA from Colorado Springs, CO when I was 11...just Like Kyra! It was a bit of a climate shock! I don't think anything can prepare you for the heat and humidity, but you eventually get used to it!!!
All we need now is to have a huge welcoming party, southern style! Let us know when you're up for it!
Mindy's right...we should have a welcoming party. It could be a Georgia non-con/party. Awesome!!!
cool. a grand adventure for sure.
I would never ever ever move to Georgia. ;) But I'm happy for you. Congratulations.
Yes! A party! :)
And Freckles.. do you know Wendy, or Mindy or Madeline? hehe.. I think not. ;)
Thanks everyone for your sweet words.
-=- My family moved to Augusta, GA from Colorado Springs, CO when I was 11-=-
I was born in August, Georgia and moved when was was 11!! (wait.... 11 months...)
Kelli, near Atlanta, near Athens (which means very little to me geographically as to Gainesville GA) there is an international market with fresh fruits and vegetables from all over the world (and canned and boxed and bottled stuff too), and I *never knew* there were so many different kinds of green beans, or eggplant.
So when you go to Atlanta for something or other, take a cooler to bring back some of that food! And the Coca Cola museum was pretty fantastic fourteen years ago when I got to go, so I bet it's even better now.
Congratulations Kelli!
How exciting for your family.
I'm so glad it's all working out!
I AM SO FREAKIN' EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love, shelby
Beginning the next chapter. I'm happy that you are able and ready to take that next step. And, John may have some sort of thing going on in Georgia this winter. Not sure where, though? Hugs to you!!!
Congrats on your decision! It sounds like you have a lovely welcoming party awaiting your arrival too. Awesome!
Azaleas? Outside? Wah!
heh!!!!!!!!!
So it sounds like there is a non-con at Mindy's house soon?:) I'll be there with bells on!
I am SOooooo excited to have y'all come on down south! It's awesome here.:) And more awesome with Traaseth's.
Woooohhooooo!!!!
So exciting Kelli! Maybe I will get to see you once in a while when I visit Ren? That's not too far:)
