Teens are a pain, they are scary, they are hard to understand individuals....
**
I HATE when people pigeon hole the group of people in the age group of 13-19.
Full of life, full of ideas, amazing individuals; that's what I'd call them.
**and I'd like to give credit for these photos to 2 other unschooling families, Thank you!

I heartily agree with you!
Amen! But I have to say, especially these teens, only because it's hard to connect with some teens I've met in my theater experiences. They have often built up walls against being vulnerable enough to connect. Hopefully the right people or situations will come along to knock those walls down.
So I'm watching the news this morning and they are doing a piece on 'Teens & Drugs' and the reporter says, "You MUST talk to your kids." I turned to Dave, started laughing and said, "I guess that's a new concept for many parents...not RUing parents." Great connection!
I added this post to my teen links here:

I love my teens! But I loved, trusted and embiggened my babies and toddlers and little children, so they grew up whole and thoughtful, not stunted and afraid. Big difference.
And if people don't know, the title of this post is a line from "Teenagers" a song by My Chemical Romance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6f3Upe81Wo
My girls had this song going a few weeks ago, non stop. It doesn't really apply to our teens but we understand what is being said.
